We’re also shining a light on the courage and strategy behind career pivots — because evolving your work life is a powerful act of leadership too.
Our intention is to equip you with knowledge, practical tools, and inspiration so you can make informed choices that align with your values and vision for your life. As always, we are here to champion your growth, your well-being, and your leadership — on your terms.
Still Connected, Fully Human
In an era where our lives are bookmarked by screens and defined by digital alerts, it’s easy to forget that we were not designed to be constantly available. Our nervous systems, once attuned to the rhythms of nature, now respond to the vibrations of notifications. In the name of productivity, connection, and ambition, we’ve surrendered a piece of our presence.
But the tide is turning. As the cost of hyper connectivity becomes more apparent—rising anxiety, burnout, sleep disruption, and a fractured sense of self—there is a growing cultural hunger for something more rooted, more human. Enter digital wellness, a movement not about rejecting technology, but about reclaiming our relationship with it.
What Is Digital Wellness?
Digital wellness is the intentional practice of using technology in ways that support, rather than sabotage, your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It’s not about unplugging entirely; it’s about using tech as a tool, not a tyrant.
It asks the hard but necessary questions:
Does my phone serve me, or am I serving it?
Am I consuming or creating?
Do my digital habits align with my real-life values?
The Burnout Loop
For many of us, the day starts and ends with a screen. The average adult spends over 7 hours per day on digital devices. Notifications interrupt us every 6 minutes. The dopamine-reward cycle of likes, messages, and scrolling slowly chips away at our focus and energy. When everything is urgent, nothing is sacred—including rest.
This constant connectivity fosters what psychologists call “techno-stress”—a cognitive overload caused by never fully disengaging. And the irony? The very tools designed to make life easier often leave us feeling more anxious and emotionally exhausted.
Rethinking Productivity
Digital culture has fused productivity with availability. The pressure to respond instantly, to be constantly “on,” to chase an inbox zero that never arrives—these are silent contributors to burnout. True productivity isn’t about being busy, it’s about being present. Being intentional.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause.
Practices for Tech-Life Balance
1. Design a Digital Sabbath
Choose one day—or even one hour—per week to step away from screens. Use that time for analog joy: journaling, walking, resting, creating.
2. Schedule Your Scrolls
Rather than impulsively checking your phone throughout the day, create “tech windows” for email, social, and news. Your brain needs closure.
3. Turn Off Non-Essential Notifications
Every ping is a micro-stressor. Create space for focus by silencing all but the truly urgent.
4. Swap Blue Light for Candlelight
Evening screen exposure disrupts melatonin and sleep cycles. Commit to a “no screens after 9PM” rule at least 3 nights a week.
5. Replace, Don’t Just Remove
When reducing screen time, replace it with something soul-nourishing—reading, movement, nature, deep conversation. Create a “joy list” of go-to activities.
Digital Doesn’t Mean Disconnected
Let’s be clear: technology isn’t the enemy. But unexamined, it becomes a thief of attention, joy, and rest. When used with intention, tech can amplify our creativity, connect us across continents, and open portals of knowledge. But like any relationship, it needs boundaries to stay healthy.
Digital wellness is not about control—it’s about consciousness.
It’s not about escaping life—it’s about showing up for it, fully awake and fully aware.

Navigating Hormone Changes During Menopause — and Finding Your Balance Again
Menopause is a natural part of life, but for many women, it can feel like stepping into unfamiliar territory — especially when it comes to all the changes happening inside the body. As you move through this transition, hormonal shifts, particularly drops in estrogen, can trigger a ripple effect that impacts everything from your energy levels to your mood and metabolism.
What Happens to Your Hormones During Menopause?
As menopause approaches, your estrogen levels start to rise and fall unpredictably before gradually declining. This shift can bring about noticeable changes in your body, such as:
Losing muscle mass and gaining fat, even if your routine hasn’t changed.
Random crying spells
Extra fat gathering around the midsection — sometimes called “menopause belly.”
A slower metabolism, which makes it harder for your body to process food efficiently.
Increased hunger cravings, making it easier to overeat without realizing it.
Alongside these physical changes, fluctuating hormones can stir up mood swings, night sweats, sleep struggles, and hot flashes. These symptoms don’t just disrupt your comfort — they can also make it harder to stay consistent with healthy habits. After all, it’s tough to stay active when you’re exhausted or make smart food choices when you’re craving everything in sight.
Why Menopause Often Leads to Weight Gain
The hormonal shifts of menopause don’t just impact your day-to-day energy — they also make it more challenging to manage your weight:
Many women lose 3–8% of their muscle mass during menopause.
Less muscle means a slower metabolism, which can make weight management harder even with healthy eating and regular exercise.
Other symptoms, like brain fog and vaginal dryness, can drain your motivation and affect your overall well-being.
If it feels like your body is fighting you at every turn, you’re not imagining it. These changes are real — and they’re not your fault.
Taking Back Control with Holistic Hormone Replacement Therapy
Here’s the good news: you don’t have to simply accept these struggles as your new normal.
One option to learn more about is holistic Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) offers a way to restore balance by replenishing the hormones your body is missing. Many women find that when they combine a customized HRT plan with structured lifestyle support, like Noom's Menopause program. An award-winning behavior change program, managing their weight — and feeling good again — becomes so much easier.
In fact, women who paired Noom with HRT lost over three times more weight compared to those who tried to go it alone.
With the right support, you can:
Rebuild muscle mass
Speed up your metabolism
Get better, more restful sleep
Curb those intense hunger cravings
Feel energized, confident, and more like yourself again
At HerBluprynt, we believe that understanding your body is the first step to taking back your power. Menopause is a major change, but with the right tools and care, you can move through it feeling strong, vibrant, and in control.

Mastering Career Pivots
Expert Contributor Kara Grasso
“What are you still doing there?” was the caps locked subject line of an email from one of my mentors. She attached a pictorial of my company’s newly announced global board of directors. None of which resembled me. I quickly responded defending my unique VP role, a description of how fulfilled I felt, and a “promised” career path forward. As I typed that response, I knew she was right… It was time for me to move on. After 21 years, I needed to feel uncomfortable and push myself into new opportunities.
That email was a catalyst to opening myself to new experiences. I was particularly interested in learning about Wall Street influenced companies and working within a US based culture. For 4 months, I interviewed for roles aligned with my future vision, openly discussed my non-negotiables, and finally, accepted a role within a 200-year-old historic US based company. It was my first significant career pivot.
Three months later, the job description I had accepted was no longer. My division was listed for sale and my role became more of a shell game than that of an actual mobility strategic contributor. Private Equity firms were feverishly courting the sales team and competitors were looming. It took one and half years to finally complete the sale, leaving much of the original executive team in individual “thanks for your service” meetings with the new HR team. Another pivot, but this time without a visible path.
As a self-proclaimed master of multi-tasking, I found myself in uncomfortable slow motion. I threw myself into anything that allowed me to contribute. This included swim team booster president, college tours, graduation celebrations, and unpaid board work. I continually told myself that this was a healthy reset, but I longed to stay relevant within the industry. This pivot was a true testament to my displacement as I wrestled with the unknown future ahead.
It was at this point that I reevaluated my vision to define what would really fulfill me. My coach challenged me in new ways and finally I realized “impact” was the key to my fulfillment. Not salary. Not title. Not LinkedIn fame. Impact to my team, to my family, and to a greater good. After much soul searching, I joined a data privacy startup focused on protecting big businesses, connected car owners, healthcare patients, school children, and vulnerable individuals everywhere. I participated in diverse learning opportunities, built an emotionally intelligent team, and stretched my speaking capabilities. I also worked to master the pitch of our solutions to prospective customers and investors. This experience was an unexpected pivot into an unexpected growth zone. Unfortunately, due to deprioritized federal law, the recent seed funding round was unsuccessful, and we’ve decided to moth ball our efforts.
Now as I start my own consultancy, primarily based on my expertise within the mobility sector, I recognize the benefit of my multiple career pivots. Had I stayed in my long-term role, I would not have the ability to contribute to the field in the ways I am. I certainly don’t believe I have become a master of pivots, but I do believe I have mastered the art of becoming comfortable with the uncomfortable.
At HerBluprynt, we believe the journey through change — whether in career, health, or life itself — is not linear, and it’s certainly not easy. It asks us to be brave, to be uncomfortable, and to keep showing up for ourselves even when the path ahead is unclear. Kara’s story reminds us that every pivot, every challenge, and every moment of reinvention is an opportunity to grow deeper into who we are meant to become. We are honored to walk alongside you as you chart your own course, knowing that leadership starts from within. Until next time, take good care of yourselves — your wellness, your dreams, and your beautiful, evolving Bluprynt.
With gratitude,
The HerBluprynt Team
